1. Remote control through the mobile app is available for all Hilo thermostats and select compatible models. Note that some compatible models can only be controlled remotely through their brand’s app.
2. On average, for a customer who replaces bimetal (dial) thermostats with Hilo smart thermostats and follows the recommendations.
3. Average rewards earned by participants in the 19 Hilo challenges offered during the 2023-2024 season.
To join Hilo challenges and earn cash rewards, you have two options: either replace your current thermostats with Hilo’s smart thermostats or connect compatible smart thermostats you already own to the Hilo app.
Enjoy complimentary installation when you replace your outdated thermostats with Hilo smart thermostats — an upgrade that allows you to remotely control and automate your heating. You’ll save energy and earn cash rewards during challenges.
Select Honeywell Home, Mysa, and Sinopé smart thermostats are compatible with Hilo. Connect them to the Hilo mobile app to participate in challenges and earn cash rewards.
Cash bonuses
By connecting the compatible smart devices you already own to Hilo, you could receive a bonus of up to $1501 per connected device. That’s on top of any cash rewards earned from reduction challenges.
1 Financial assistance is offered to participants in the Hilo program who meet and accept the program's terms. This entails adding any eligible compatible connected device in the Hilo app, as well as a 12-month commitment to participate in Hilo Challenges. The financial assistance will be paid to the customer in the weeks following the connection of their device(s) to Hilo and their acceptance of the Financial Assistance Agreement. Financial assistance is only provided once per eligible compatible connected device. The number of eligible compatible connected devices is limited. For more information, please refer to the financial assistance program. The financial assistance program may be modified or canceled at any time without notice.
Connect your compatible thermostats to Hilo to join challenges. If you own Honeywell Home, Mysa, or Sinopé thermostats, check their compatibility and add them to the Hilo app to start earning cash rewards during challenges, or maximize your rewards if you already have Hilo smart thermostats in your home.
Other devices which were not tested by Hilo could be compatible with the app.
For example, a maximum of 10 dimmers can be paired with your hub. If you select eight dimmers as part of your Large Home package, your order will automatically be limited to two additional dimmers so that you don’t exceed the limit.
