Can I choose to opt out of a Hilo challenge?

Of course you can! You can choose to opt out of (or withdraw from) an ongoing challenge up to 10 times per winter.

You can opt out of a challenge starting from the time it’s announced until the time it ends. If you withdraw from a challenge while it’s still under way, your thermostats will go back to their regular set points and your electric car charging will resume if applicable.

Please note! No reward is given for a challenge you’ve withdrawn from, regardless of when you choose to do so. On the other hand, withdrawing a single thermostat from a challenge does not mean the end of the challenge. It may, however, affect your household’s final result.
