*The terms and conditions hereby govern Hilo’s Recommendation Program. Please read them carefully to find out about the eligibility requirements for a Referrer and Invitee Hilo customers, as well as the terms and conditions for obtaining bonuses and discounts.
For more information about the Service, we are referring you to the Participant’s Agreement (contract).
1. Definitions. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, unless the context otherwise requires, the following words and expressions shall have the meanings set forth below. Terms not otherwise defined have the meaning given to them in the Participant’s Agreement.
1.1. "Friends and Family" refers to the friends and family members of the Referrer with whom he has a privileged relationship that includes regular communications, and who has confirmed their interest in the Program.
1.2. "Hilo Code" refers to the Referrer’s unique code meant to be shared with his Friends and Family. This code is available on the Hilo application.
1.3. "Hilo" is the legal person whose full name is Hilo Services Inc., a subsidiary of Hydro-Québec.
1.4. "Invitation Bonus" refers to the bonus to be paid to the Referrer in accordance with article 3.
1.5. "Referral" refers to a new Participant who proceeds with the installation of the Service by using the Hilo Code of a Referrer.
1.6. "Referrer" refers to the current Participant of the Service who shares a Hilo Code to invite Friends and Family to subscribe to the Service.
1.7. "Participant’s Agreement" refers to the Participant’s Agreement (contract).
1.8. "Program" refers to "Hilo’s Recommendation Program" whereby a Referrer shares a Hilo Code with a friend or family member to encourage them to become a Participant. Each time the Service is installed as a result of a first order placed by a Referral using a Hilo Code, the Referrer receives an Invitation Bonus of $25.00. This Invitation Bonus will be added to the Referrer's total Rewards for the current Challenges season - or the next one if the season has ended.
2. Term. The Program is available on an ongoing basis for an indefinite period.
3. Invitation Bonus
3.1. The Invitation Bonus will be added to the Referrer's Rewards when the installation of the Service is completed on the Referral's house using the Referrer's Hilo Code.
3.2. Each Invitation Bonus is valued at $25.00 in Canadian currency.
3.3. Invitation Bonuses are added to the Referrer's total Rewards for the current Hilo Challenge season or the next one, if the season has ended. The Hilo Challenges season runs from December 1 to March 31 inclusively.
3.4. The payment of the Invitation Bonus is conditional upon compliance with all the terms and conditions set forth herein.
3.5. Referrers will not be eligible for the Invitation Bonus if a Participant has already registered using another Participant’s Hilo Code or has registered outside the scope of the Program.
4. Restrictions on Participation in the Program
4.1. Each Referral may only benefit from a Hilo Code once, regardless of whether access to Hilo Codes from different Referrers was granted.
4.2. By sending an invitation, the Referrer represents and warrants that the Referral is a friend or family member with whom he has a privileged relationship that involves regular communications. The Hilo Code may not be transferred, sold or distributed massively.
4.3. The Program is for personal use only and Hilo discourages any paid advertising by its Participants relating to the Program.
4.4. Any use of Hilo's trademarks in connection with the transmission of the Hilo Code and the Program in general is prohibited.
4.5. In the event of any conflict, these terms and conditions shall prevail over the content of any brochure, promotional material, statement or other communication relating to this offer, whether written or oral, unless otherwise specified.
5. Right of Refusal. Hilo reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse or cancel the participation of any person, Referral or Referrer, in the Program upon discovering that such person is abusing the Program or for any other reason.
6. Fraudulent Activities. Invitation Discounts or Invitation Bonuses obtained through fraudulent activities or in violation of these terms and conditions will be invalid and refund may be requested by Hilo.
7. Modifications and Termination of the Program. The Program may be amended, modified, extended, suspended or cancelled at any time, in whole or in part, without notice.

Every time this code is used to submit a first order with Hilo, that person receives a $25 bonus (which is applied once Hilo has installed the devices at the new customer's home) which is added to their total rewards for the current challenge season (or for the next challenge season if the current season has ended).
